FAQs

How do I register my child?

In order to register your child in Creative Youth Enrichment Center:

  • complete a pre-placement visit to our center (as required by DHS)
  • complete a Child Information Form
  • provide a current copy of your child’s immunizations
  • submit registration fee and activity fee

What does a typical day look like?

A typical day at Creative Youth Enrichment Center depends on the age of the child. When you tour our program, you will notice a daily schedule posted on the parent boards located in or near each room. The daily schedule that pertains to the age of your child will provide you with information regarding your child’s daily routine. Generally, the day will include morning welcome, learning activities, supplemental enrichment activities and play.   We assure you that your child will experience a balance between learning activities, rest and play.

What is the teacher/child ratio?

The ratio of faculty to children is age- and state- specific. We are committed to following the designated state ratios at a minimum. Creative Youth Enrichment Center utilizes assistant teachers and aids in the classrooms to help the lead teachers implement activities, which may further lower the ratios at many times throughout the day.

How should I dress my child every day?

Children under the age of three should wear comfortable play clothes and dress as the weather dictates. Sneakers are the safest and most comfortable footwear for active, playful children, and we ask that the children do not wear open-toed or backless shoes to school.

How can I get involved?

CYEC places emphasis on open communication between parents and our staff. Our Open Door Policy encourages parents to get involved in classroom and center activities. We believe this is critical in assisting families to monitor their child’s development, and it also maintains a high level of confidence between parents and our faculty. Our Parent Council helps to coordinate various community service events, charitable events and fundraisers.
